Saluda, SC

Geneva Worley Merchant, 94, died Friday, March 2, 2018 at Long's Residential Care Center.

Born in Huntsville, AL and a daughter of the late Willie and Vassie Mae Williams Worley, she was the wife of the late John Calhoun Merchant. Mrs. Merchant was a homemaker and was a member of Saluda Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Jim Merchant (Robin) of Saluda, three daughters, Phyllis Griffin (Jimmy), Lena Clary (Phillip) and Tina Shealy (Slick) all of Saluda, eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Merchant was preceded in death by a daughter, Faye Baysinger, a brother, Earl Worley and two grandchildren, John Patrick McGee and Allen Baysinger.

A graveside service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Rodney Gunter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
