Fred Miller

George Fred Miller, 85, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at HospiceCare of the Piedmont in Greenwood.

Born in Saluda County and a son of the late George Shepherd and Annie Lee Goff Miller, he was the husband of Sederis Shealy Miller. Mr. Miller was retired from the South Carolina Department of Transportation in Aiken. He was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church and was a Mason with Hampton Lodge #143. He had a passion for music as he played the guitar and mandolin. He performed in many country bands in the area including Rhythm Raiders, Country Round-up and Good Tymers and he was an avid Clemson fan.

Surviving are his wife, Sederis Shealy Miller, a son, Freddie L. Miller (Donna) of Leesville, a daughter, Angela M. Fulbright (Tommy) of Greenwood, three grandchildren, Krystle Woodlief, Kyle S. Miller and James R. Bush, II and a great-grandson, Zackery D. Evans.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason M. Bush, a brother, Haskell Miller and three sisters, Edith Turner, Grace Asbill and Pauline Lester.

The family would like to recognize and thank the staff of HospiceCare of the Piedmont for their dedicated and compassionate care during Mr. Miller's illness.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Good Hope Lutheran Church with Rev. William C. Newman and Rev. Steve Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
