Gladys Nix

Gladys Elizabeth Powell Nix, 93, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at NHC Laurens.

Born in Edgefield County, she was the daughter of the late Jasper Earl and Minnie Laura Holmes Powell, and the wife of the late Edgar Ernest Nix. She was a homemaker and was a member of Emanuel Church in Saluda, SC.

Surviving are five sons, Billy Nix (Linda) of Saluda, Raymond Nix of Leesville, Roy Nix (Gail) of Grovetown, GA, Terry Nix (Elaine) of Fountain Inn, and Tony Nix of Saluda, three daughters, Linda Allen of Simpsonville, Ruby Mims of Simpsonville, and Lynn Merk (Danny) of Irmo, a brother, Elliott Powell of Johnston, a sister, Angelle Jones of Moonville, 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Nix is preceded in death by nine siblings, Lewis, Ellie, David, Edith, Daisy, Gene, Paul, Bonnie and Jasper Powell.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Burton Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at West Travis Park Cemetery.
