Gwendolyn Dawkins Peterson, 65, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Lexington Medical Center.

Born in Prosperity, she was the daughter of Ruby Kunkle Dawkins and the late Gerald Watson "Bill" Dawkins, and widow of Lloyd Eugene Peterson. She previously worked in a sewing plant as well as managed a restaurant. She was a member of Emmanuel Church of Saluda.

Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Stone (Toby Bledsoe) of Saluda and Sherry Gibson (Jimmy) of NC, her mother, Ruby Kunkle Dawkins of Saluda, two brothers, Gordon Dawkins (Joyce) of Ward and Doug Dawkins of Saluda, four grandchildren, Cody Stone, Madelyn Bledsoe, Eddie Reyes (Abigail) and Sophia Reyes, a sister-in-law, Vicky Dawkins, two daughters of the heart, Shelly Shealy (Anne Marie and Mary Sue Livingston) and Nikki Smith, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Peterson is preceded in death by a daughter, Brandy Peterson Reyes and a brother, Kimbrell Kunkle Dawkins.

A visitation will be held from 6 - 9 PM, Monday, September 13, 2021 at Ramey Funeral Home.
