Hazel M. Hruby, 94, of Saluda passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at her residence.

Born in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Amon and Maggie Cook Minick. Mrs. Hruby graduated from Prosperity High School where she played basketball. She retired from General Electric in Irmo, SC.

Mrs. Hruby was a member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church for 65 years, as well as a member of the choir. She was a long time member of the American Rose Society and the Pyracantha Garden Club. Mrs. Hruby enjoyed sewing, working in her yard and growing roses.

Surviving is her son, David Chapman (Laura) of Piedmont, OK; grandchildren, LaTisha Boyd, Cecily Carrozza (Curtis), Celene Carrozza, Woodrow Padgett, and Danielle Enlow (Darya); great-grandchildren, Jacob, Carla, and Travis Boyd; and sisters, Dorothy Minick and Dollie Lunsford.

Mrs. Hruby was predeceased by husbands, Lewis Chapman and Wilbur Hruby; daughters, Monica C. Meyer and Celeste C. Carrozza; brothers, Ralph Minick, Harold Minick, David Minick, Hugh Minick, and Leroy Minick; and sisters, Christine Minick and Kathryn Bundrick.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, 101 N. Calhoun Street, Saluda, SC 29138 conducted by the Rev. James Glander. The family will receive friends following the service.

Burial will be held at Colony Lutheran Church, 48 Colony Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108 at 2:30 pm, Thursday, October 16, 2025.
