Helen Humphries

Helen Force Humphries, 91, died Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Saluda Nursing Center.

Born in Newberry, and a daughter of the late Charles A. Force, Sr. and Lillian Griffin Force Unger, she was the wife of the late Wilbur Absalom Humphries of 72 wonderful years. Mrs. Humphries was a former administrative assistant at Saluda County Elementary and Saluda County High School, prior to retirement. She was also a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Steven W. Humphries (Pam) of Lexington and Brian L. Humphries of Asheville, NC, a daughter, Lynn H. Chapman (Steve) of Evans, GA, a sister, Margie Morrison of Newberry, two grandchildren, Adam Humphries (Morgan) of Lexington and Stephanie Rogers (Woody) of Cheraw, and six great-grandchildren, Noah Williams (Sarah) of Lexington, Rebekah Williams of Cheraw, Nathan Rogers of Cheraw, Landon Rogers of Cheraw, Charlie Humphries of Lexington and Max Humphries of Lexington.

Mrs. Humphries was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Force, Jr.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, December 20, 2020 at West Travis Park Cemetery with Rev. Susan Maddox officiating.
