Helen Virginia Skeens Mitchell, 96, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Saluda Nursing Center.

Born in Grundy, VA, and the daughter of the late Bill and Minty Collins Skeens, she was the wife of the late Thomas Mitchell and Thomas J. Trotter. She was a homemaker and member of Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Beulah K. Reiser (Tom) of Orient, OH, a step-son, Tommy Mitchell (Brenda) of Saluda, two daughters-in-law, Phyllis Trotter of Oak Hill, OH and Jody Gentry (WM), four grandchildren, Christina Evans (Doug), Eric Reiser (Jenny), DJ Trotter (Vicky) and Brian Trotter, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by a son, Ovid Trotter of Oak Hill, OH.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM, Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church with Rev. Tommy Mitchell and DJ Trotter officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
