Henry Forrest

Henry Cromley Forrest, 72, passed away, Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Piedmont of Augusta.

Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late James Marion Forrest, Sr. and Verna Cromley Forrest. Mr. Forrest was a graduate of Saluda High School, earned his master's degree from Clemson University and was working on his PhD. He was a former guidance counselor at Strom Thurmond High School and tennis coach. He attended Johnston Presbyterian Church, was a Baptist Deacon and was a state leader in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Mr. Forrest was a Mason with Johston Masonic Lodge, an Iptay member and avid Clemson Fan.

Surviving are four brothers, Jimmy M. Forrest (Vivian), Memmus Forrest, Joseph Forrest (Wanda) and Richard Forrest, a sister, Ava Burdell (Billy), and sister in law, Pansy Forrest.

Mr. Forrest was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Forrest.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Johnston Presbyterian Church with Rev. Paul Volpitto officiating. Interment will follow in Spann Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the burial.
