James Harold Bedenbaugh

Mr. James Harold Bedenbaugh, 78, entered into rest January 18, 2022.

Born August 28, 1943 in Saluda, SC to the late Matthew Owens Bedenbaugh and Uneida Matthews Bedenbaugh, he was a 1961 graduate of Hollywood High School where he was a basketball athlete and a school bus driver. He was a veteran and proudly served in the United States National Guard. He retired from International Paper Company after more than 44 years of service. He was a member of Clearwater First Baptist Church.

Surviving family include two children, Bethany Leigh Welsh (Chris) and Brandon Quinn Bedenbaugh (Leslie) of North Augusta; three grandchildren Colby Welsh, Baylon Bedenbaugh, and Karley Bedenbaugh; a sister, Margaret Shealy of Batesburg, and a brother, Legar Bedenbaugh of Saluda.

Mr. Bedenbaugh is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Linda Sue Black Bedenbaugh, his sisters Loreita Shealy and Vanessa Attardo, and his brother Osborne Bedenbaugh.

Interment service will be officiated by Pastor John Bolin. The service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Cleves Matthews Cemetery, 1645 Matthews Road, Batesburg, SC 29006. Pallbearers are Colby Welsh, Baylon Bedenbaugh, Karley Bedenbaugh, Jacob Black, Caleb McMichael and Dawsyn Simmons. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 22324, New York, NY 10087.
