Saluda, SC

James Author "Buck" Lowery, 83, died Saturday, September 16, 2017 at his residence.

Born in Greenwood County and a son of the late James Lonnie and Viola Corbin Lowery, he was the husband of Lalla Mae Cromley Lowery. Mr. Lowery was a retired electrician from Monsanto. He was a mason and Past Master of Travis Lodge # 241 and a Shriner and member of Hejaz Shrine Temple. He was a former volunteer fireman and founding member with Old Town Fire Department and attended Zoar United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Lalla Mae Cromley Lowery, a daughter, Vicki Lowery Crapps (Jimmie) of Saluda, a brother in-law, David Cromley (Dianne) of Saluda, two sisters in-law, Dory C. Whittle and Rose C. Farmer (Jerry) both of Saluda and his well loved dog "Lucky".

The family would like to extend thanks to special caregivers, Teresa Mathis, Nicole Praylow, Andrea Williams, Amanda Cook and Sylvia Helms .

Mr. Lowery was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Rudolph Lowery.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Freeman and Rev. Dan Bradley officiating.
