James Eric Chapman, 30, died Friday, December 8, 2017.
A native of Saluda, and the son of James "Poogie" and Brenda Diane Burnett Chapman, he was the husband of Tonya Lynn Powell Chapman. Eric was a 2006 graduate of Saluda High School and was a Corporal in the US Marine Corps and was deployed in Afghanistan. He was Corporal with the Johnston Police Department and attended Saluda Church of God.
Surviving are his wife, Tonya Lynn Powell Chapman of Saluda, a daughter, Autumn Michelle Chapman of the home, his parents, James "Poogie" and Brenda Diane Burnett Chapman of Saluda, two sisters, Anna Marie Miller of Saluda and Jamie Diane Perry (Sherriff John Perry) of Batesburg and three stepchildren, Kristin Stone, Britton Stone and Claire Bartley, two nieces, Ashley Miller and Tiffany Freeman and three nephews, Calvin Perry, Chris Perry and Thomas Miller.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Saluda Baptist Church with Rev. Derrick Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Ridge Spring Cemetery.
