James Boyd Goff

James Boyd Goff, 64 of Saluda passed away on September 10, 2025 surrounded by his beloved family.

Mr. Goff worked for Satterfield Construction for over 25 years and attended Deans Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was strongly loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by many.

In his younger years many knew James by his sweet yellow Nova. He was also known for his enjoyment of playing competitive games. He especially enjoyed playing corn hole and Phase 10. If he wasn't running heavy equipment, he often could be found riding his golf cart or side by side, stopping along the way to chat with everyone in the community. He also enjoyed spending time outside at home "tinkering" on things or with his dog, Shep and his "Birds" chickens. He was a very reliable man who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need. James was a huge family man. He was very proud of his family and loved them very much. He really loved spending time at Ocean Lakes Family Campground, where he created countless cherished family memories. Also known as Poppa G or Goffee, he will mostly be remembered for his contagious laugh, bright smile, quick witted sense of humor and unwavering love for everyone.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Beverly "Miranda" Rodgers Goff of 44 years, daughter, Charity Neal (Mike), step-grandson, Braden Neal and special foster grandchildren, Andy Glenn, Travis Storey and Katelynn Storey. Sisters, Brenda Lawson (Curlie), Delphine Goff and Cathy Goff and half-siblings, Eddie Hook, Michael Hook and James C. Goff.

Mr. Goff was preceded in death by his parents, George Clifton Goff and Ella Victoria Cromer Goff, paternal grandparents, Clifton Goff and Motlena Padgett Goff and maternal grandparents, James Cromer and Dollie Miller Cromer.

The family wishes to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support during James's brief, but courageous battle with cancer. A special thank you to Dr. Ralph Riley and the team at Self Regional Health Care. Also, to Hospice of SC/GA and to Judi Jimenez.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Saturday evening at Ramey Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of the daughter, Charity Neal.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Deans Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Tim Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dean's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, 6416 Hollywood Road, Saluda, SC 29138 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial Processing, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
