James Charles "Jim" Bowling, 62, died Saturday, June 9, 2018 at HospiceCare of the Piedmont in Greenwood.

Born in Richland County, he was a son of the late Dwight W. Bowling, Sr. and Frances Blalock Bowling. Mr. Bowling had attended Western Carolina University and was a member of Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia. He enjoyed reading, writing poetry, playing the piano and composing music.

Surviving are a brother, Dwight W. Bowling, Jr. (Tommie) of Greenwood, a sister, Susan B. Reeves (Dr. Don) of Beaumont, TX, five nieces and nephews and six great-nieces and great-nephews.

A graveside service will be held 12 noon, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia with Rev. Barry Gray officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
