James "Jim" Corley, Jr.

James Suddath "Jim" Corley, Jr., 79, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Saluda County and a son of the late James Suddath Corley, Sr. and Lillie Mae Coleman Corley, he was the husband of Wanda Dale Timmerman Corley. Mr. Corley was a graduate of Saluda High School class of 1956 and a graduate of Newberry College. He served in the South Carolina National Guard 122 Engineer Company in Saluda and was a retired supervisor with Monsanto. He was a charter member of Saluda Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was also a former member of the Lions Club. Jim loved hunting, fishing, gardening and the Clemson Tigers, but most of all he loved his family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda Dale Timmerman Corley, two sons, James Suddath "Jimmy" Corley, III (Angie) and Jeffrey Warren Corley (Lori) both of Saluda, a daughter, Gina Corley Jacobs (Harve) of Charleston, eight grandchildren, Amy Williams, Amanda Roetling, Jonathan Williams, Justin Corley, Christian Corley, Graceyn Corley, Evan Corley and Catie Corley and a great-granddaughter, Emma Grace Roetling.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2017 at Saluda Baptist Church with Rev. Stacey Smith, Rev. Burton Campbell and Rev. Van Pigate officiating.
