Saluda, SC
James "Jimmy" Clark, Jr.
James "Jimmy" Curtis Clark, Jr., 75, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Lexington Medical Center.
Born in Union, SC, he was the son of the late James Curtis Clark, Sr. and Etta Keisler Clark. He was a man of faith and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He spent most of his life in Saluda where he managed and ran Bryans Service Station for 30 years. Mr. Clark taught us that a hard work ethic was never a compromise. Even in his years of declining health, he continued to work, providing fresh produce and boiling peanuts for family and friends. He lived a simple life and never met a stranger, sharing his life, stories and gifts. He was loved by all who knew him.
We begin to remember, not that you died, but that you lived and that your life gave us memories too special to forget.
Surviving are two sisters, Jonnie K. Clark of the home and Becky Self (Keith) of Parksville, a nephew, Gary K. Self (Teresa) of Simpsonville, a niece, Angie S. White of Bradley, two great-nieces, two great-nephews, two special cousins, Gayle Sims and Suzette Porth, and a long-time special friend, Judy Long, the love of his life.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Ramey Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Union Memorial Gardens with Gary K. Self, Jr. officiating.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul UMC, 102 E. Butler Ave, Saluda, SC 29138, Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 739 N. Main Street, Mauldin, SC 29662, Edgefield Baptist Association, c/o Men's Ministry, 985 Highway 25 N, Edgefield, SC 29824, or the charity of your choice.
