James Matthews
James Arthur Matthews, 73, died Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Saluda Nursing Center.
Born in Saluda County, he was the son of the late George Irvin Matthews and Doris Sue Duke Matthews. Mr. Matthews was a retired CDL Driving Instructor with SAGE Truck Driving School. He was a member of the National Riffle Association.
Surviving are two daughters, Angie Smith of Johnston and Sandra Jumper of Leesville, an Uncle, James Duke of Saluda, a grandson, Brandon Jumper of Prosperity and a great-grandson, Weston Jumper of Prosperity.
Mr. Matthews was preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin D. Matthews and George Irvin Matthews, Jr.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2022 at Billy Matthews Cemetery with Rev. Burton Campbell officiating.
