James "Dick" Riser

James Arthur "Dick" Riser, 86, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2019 at Saluda Nursing Center.

Born in Saluda and a son of the late Curtis Wilbur and Sula Mae Gillian Riser, he was the husband of the late Jean Butler Riser. Mr. Riser was retired from Gentry Poultry and Greenwood Mills. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his daughter, Wanda Thompson (Keith) of Laurens, a son, Jim Jones of Waterloo, two sisters, Linda Hazel of Spartanburg and Christine Gentry of Ward, grandchildren, Matt and Stephanie Ouzts, Nathan Ouzts, Brandi and Addam Willingham, Gracie Jones and Megan and Stephen Rickard and great grandchildren, Nathan Schroeder, EmmaKate Rickard, Hayden Rickard and Collins Willingham and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brothers, Robert C. Riser and Johnny Wyman Riser and sisters, Jeanette Voiselle, Effie Lee Burnett, Frances Gentry and Peggy Joyce Riser.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Rowland officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
