Jo Ann Reichart – Smith
Jo Ann Reichart – Smith, 81, passed away May 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Panama Canal, and the daughter of the late Joseph Reichart and Conchita Bucello Reichart, she was the wife of the late James Robert Smith. She was a retired social worker in the Aiken area. Mrs. Jo was an avid reader and found deep comfort and guidance in her faith through studying the Bible. She cherished her family bonds with her grandchildren and enjoyed exploring the mysteries of astrology.
Surviving are a daughter, Laura Gayle (James), four grandchildren, Kimberly Gayle, Jamie Gayle, Nikki Libby, and Melissa Christ, seven great-grandchildren, and her beloved furry companion, Ellie Mae.
Mrs. Jo is preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Peters, and two brothers, Frank Reichart and Bill Reichart.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Saving Saluda Strays, c/o Pet Care of Newberry, 436 Wilson Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
