John Edward "Ed" Miller

John Edward "Ed" Miller, 94, died Friday, March 31, 2023 at Saluda Nursing Center.

Born in Saluda County and a son of the late Tandie and Lillie Sanford Miller, he was the husband of the late Reba Mae Lake Miller. Mr. Miller served in the South Carolina National Guard, 122nd Engineer Company and worked as a truck driver and at Ridge Lumber Company. He was a member of Emory United Methodist Church and volunteered for 30 years with Meals on Wheel, Senior Center and the Delmar Community Center. Mr. Miller was a huge baseball fan, and loved NASCAR racing. He loved the Lord and his family and served them all.

Surviving are three sons, Eddie Lake Miller (Sue) of Saluda, Doyle Tandie Miller (Liz) of Batesburg and Tracy Shawn Miller of Kingsport, TN, a daughter, Lesa Miller Campbell (Johnny) of Batesburg, a brother, Darrell "Snap" Miller of Batesburg, ten grandchildren, Adam Miller, Amanda Defeterici, Matthew Miller, Megan Durant, Danielle Smith, Albert West, Cassandra Miller, Caroline Miller, Caleb Johnson and Patsy Johnson and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Mr. Miller was preceded in death by four brothers, Bo, Ray, Leland and Evaughn and five sisters, Maude Lee, Willie Ruth, Lazelle, Jewel and Betty.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Monday, April 3, 2023 at Emory United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. in the church social hall. At other times the family will be at the home of Mr. Miller's daughter, Mrs. Lesa Campbell.
