Jolene Wilkie

Jolene Steele Wilkie, 79, passed away April 25, 2024, at her home.

Born in Greenwood, SC, and the daughter of the late Reuben Steele Sr. and Josephine Davis Steele, she was the wife of Henry Marshall "Chuck" Wilkie and was first married to the late Michael McArthur Powell. Mrs. Wilkie retired from Regal in Johnston and helped at the J&J Shop in Saluda. She attended Cross Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilkie found joy in gardening, dancing, and playing bingo.

Surviving alongside her husband of 30 years are a grandson, Josh Powell (Hollie) of Saluda, a great-grandson, Trevor Allison, two great-granddaughters, Berkleigh Kelly, Joslie Jolene Powell, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wilkie was preceded in death by a son, Michael Timothy Powell, a sister, Betty Jane Steele Powell, and two brothers, Junior Steele and Robert Steele.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at West Travis Park Cemetery with Brother Dwight Crisp officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
