Joyce Crockett

Joyce Turner Crockett, 77, died Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Saluda Nursing Center.

Born in Saluda County, she was the daughter of the late William Edward Turner and Minnie Dolly Burnett Turner. Mrs. Crockett was a retired sales clerk from T.A. Truck Center and was a member of Beacon Baptist Church in Salem, VA.

Surviving are two sons, William Maxie Hopkins (Debbie) of Elliston, VA and Kevin Todd Hopkins (Tracy) of Daleville, VA, a daughter, Laura L. Ackerman (Mendel) of Leesville, four brothers, Ray Turner (Teresa) of Saluda, Jerry Turner (Irene) of Ninety Six, Donnie Turner (Linda) of Greenwood and Keith Turner (Brenda) of Saluda, a sister, Kathy Corley (Billie) of Saluda, fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Crockett was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Hopkins and a granddaughter, Jessica Leake.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Durand Hall and Pastor Bill Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
