Obituary

Juanita Black Edwards, 78, died Thursday, February 5, 2015.

Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late J.P. and Mamie Hyler Black, she was the wife of the late Joe Ben Edwards. Mrs. Edwards was retired from Milliken and was a member of Saluda First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are three daughters, JoAnn (Sonny) Wood, Debra (Glenn) Davis and Sandra (Bennie) Crouch, a son, Louis (Audrey) Edwards, a sister, Mattie Frances Neal, a brother, James M. "Carty" Black, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie M. Black and Myrtle B. Rodgers and a grandson, Austin Howard.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Saluda First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Louie Murray, Rev. Larry Smith and Rev. Dennis Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Deans Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church social hall.
