Obituary

Judy Freeland Phillips, 67, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 23, 2014.

Born in and a lifelong resident of Saluda County and a daughter of the late, James Furman and Annie Mae Davis Freeland, she was preceded in death by her life partner, Keith Hallman. Judy loved to serve people as a waitress throughout her life. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful strong Christian woman. We have peace in knowing that she is not hurting anymore and she is in heaven with Jesus and her loved ones. Judy would strongly urge people to quit smoking.

Surviving are her children, Crystal (Bennie) Arnold of Saluda, Chris Phillips of Saluda-Leesville, Lisa (Robert) Saunders of Leesville, a brother, James Randy Freeland of Saluda, a sister, Frances Drummond of Greenwood, five grandchildren, Heather Arnold of Saluda, Larue Arnold of Saluda, Krystal Risinger of Leesville, Brandon Saunders of Leesville and Constance Saunders Fitcher of Leesville, four great-grandchildren, Trenton Risinger, Trevor Risinger, Karlee Fitcher and Kendall Fitcher and several nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil Freeland and Eugene Freeland.

A Celebration of her life will be held from 5 until 8 pm, Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at her daughter's home, Crystal Arnold, 801 May Rd, Saluda, SC. along with visitation.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Judy Phillips Memorial Fund c/o Palmetto Bank, 207 Cambridge St. N., Ninety Six, SC 29666 or to Hospice Care of Tri-County, 13795 C.R. Koon Hwy., Newberry, SC 29108.
