Saluda, SC
Louise Cockrell Way, 98, died Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Lexington Extended Care.
Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Jacob "Jake" and Stella Miller Cockrell, she was the wife of the late Lonnie Way. Mrs. Way was retired from the Saluda Shirt Plant and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, William David Powell (Sharon) of Saluda, two daughters, Joyce Powell Babin and Dianne Powell Coleman (Herb) both of Columbia, three sisters, Mildred Wilson of Saluda, Ruby Caughman of Batesburg and Frances C. Storey of Ridge Spring, a brother, Alton Cockrell of Saluda, eight grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in Furman Matthews Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
