Luther "Buddy" Rodgers, Jr.

Luther John "Buddy" Rodgers, Jr. 80, died Friday, July 17, 2020 at Lexington Medical Center.

Born in Saluda County and a son of the late Luther John Rodgers, Sr. and Lelia Storey Rodgers, he was the husband of Mary Helen Goodman Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers was retired from the South Carolina Department of Transportation and was a member of Deans Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Helen Goodman Rodgers, three daughters, Miranda Rodgers Goff (James) and Marsha Rodgers Tucker both of Saluda and Wendy Rodgers Craps (Mitch) of Leesville, two brothers, Johnny Rodgers of Ward and Jerry Rodgers of Waterloo, a sister, Annie Ruth Satcher of Ward, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren

Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie Ann Jones, two sisters, Hattie Mae Storey and Ruby Proctor , a brother, Dewey Rodgers and a grandson, Mykal Jones.

Due to COVID-19 a private funeral service will be held 4 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2020 at Deans Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Ray Southerland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests that all those attending wear masks.
