Mae M. King went home to be with Jesus after a gradual decline in heath from Dementia at Saluda Nursing Center. She lived a full life and was made comfortable the last days by family and caregivers of Wise Wing. Mae was born in Spartanburg where she raised her family. She owned a Cloth Shop and sewed for the public in Lyman where she was a member of Lyman First Baptist Church. She moved to Saluda to live her final days close to her daughter and granddaughter where she attended Clydes Chapel Southern Methodist Church until her health wouldn't allow.
Mae McFee King was born Daisy Mae McFee August 27th, 1923. She was preceded in death by her Husband Reuben B. King "Jack". She was the daughter of the late Emory G. and Iren Bishop McFee. Surviving sisters; Elizabeth Satterfield of Roebuck and Bueller Turner of Spartanburg. She had two sisters and one brother that preceded her in death; Doris Varner and Martha Varner and Joe McFee.
Mae is survived by two children: one daughter Rebecca A. Mabry of Saluda and one son Rueben B. King, (Maureen) of Lyman.
She had five Grandchildren; Christina Cochran (Eli), Tammy West, Benjamin King (Laurie), Morgan Bonczek (Doug), Alyssa Conley (Brad), six Great Grandchildren; Chris Johnson (Kara), Cody Gray (Kelley), Paul Cochran, Nickie West, Trista West, Addison King, Emma Grace King, Brycen Conley and five Great-Great Grandchildren: Davis Johnson, Cooper Johnson, Sawyer Chastain, Karli Chastain, Angel West.
Family will be receiving friends and family at the home of Granddaughter, Christina Cochran and grandson-in-law, Eli. 1319 Chappells Hwy. Saluda SC.
Graveside Service will be at Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 126 Fort Prince Rd. Wellford SC 29385, Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Greg Williams officiating.
