Margaret Harmon McGee, 94, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Saluda Nursing Center.

Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Luther Wiley Harmon, Sr. and Cory Lee Parrish Harmon, she was the wife of the late Paul Lenzy McGee. Mrs. McGee retired after serving 42 years from Saluda County Farm Service Agency. She was a charter member of the farm service agency employee association and she won state award and national for outstanding community service. She was a member of the Saluda County Historical Society, The Richland Community Development Club and the Business and Professional Women's Club. Mrs. McGee was a longtime member of Richland Springs Baptist Church. She served as a leader in Baptist Women and Girls in Action mission organizations and was active in Sunday School and the church choir.

Surviving is a son, David Wayne McGee of Saluda.

Mrs. McGee was preceded in death by three brothers, Luther "Luke" Harmon, Jr., Ernest Harmon and Kinard Harmon and three sisters, Mary Helen Boatwright, Martha Sue Denny and Essie Lee Smith.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Richland Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Jones and Rev. Kyle Harmon officiating. Interment will follow in Ridge Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church social hall.
