Whether accompanying a choir, leading hymns, or playing for her own enjoyment, her music brought comfort, joy, and inspiration to all who listened. In addition to her love of music, she found great fulfillment in singing both as a soloist and as part of choirs and community groups, lifting her voice in harmony and praise throughout her life.

After moving back to South Carolina in the late 1960's, she reunited with her home church, Sardis Baptist Church, where she continued to bless many with her musical abilities for many years playing the piano and singing in the choir. During this time, she became an independent business woman opened a woman's clothing store, "Margee's", on the main street in Batesburg, where she spent approximately 30 years serving and dressing her loyal customers and friends.

She was also a proud and dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she built lasting friendships and lived out her commitment to service, faith, and charity. Her kindness, grace, and steadfast spirit touched many lives within the organization and beyond.
