Marietta Rodgers Powell's Obituary
Marietta Rodgers Powell, 93, passed peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at her home in Ward.
Born in Saluda County and daughter of the late Ellen Forrest Rodgers and David Lewis Rodgers, Marietta enjoyed making crafts and working crossword puzzles.
Surviving are two daughters, Claudia P. Gwinn and Helen P. Kitchings (Billy) of Ward ; one son, James Powell (Betty) of Greenwood, four grandchildren, fifteen great and three great-great grandchildren along with two sisters.
Marietta was preceded in death by her husband, James U. Powell, two sisters and one brother.
The family will have a prayer service beginning at 6 PM followed by a visitation until 8 PM at St. William's Catholic Church on Thursday, July 30, 2015.
Funeral mass will be held at 11 AM , Friday, July 31, 2015, at St. William's Catholic Church with Father Jacob Joseph officiating. Interment will follow in the St. William's Catholic Church Cemetery.
