Marjorie Ann Jones

Marjorie Ann Smith Jones, 81, peacefully passed away Tuesday evening February 28, 2023 at Sedgewood Manor Healthcare Center in Hopkins, SC.

Born in Saluda County July 9,1941, she was a daughter of the late Charlton Seawright Smith and Marjorie Jane Crouch Smith. Marjorie was a graduate of Saluda High School and Greenwood Commercial College. She was formerly employed with The South Carolina Highway Department in Columbia and was a faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church while growing up in Saluda.

Marjorie made her home in West Columbia, SC since 1973 and had many good friends there. She was a member of the West Columbia Pentecostal Holiness Church where she attended with her daughter Sharon. She also taught Sunday school and served as a Nursery Worker alongside her daughter.

Marjorie loved children and watched many of them in her home for several years. She also loved to attend gospel music concerts with her daughter Sharon.

Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Jones Theobald (Greg), her two brothers, Frank Boyd Smith (Pam), Charlton Seawright Smith Jr, and her sister, Janet Smith Martin (Russell, deceased).

A graveside service will be held 12 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Travis Park Cemetery with Rev. Cameron Levi officiating.
