Dr. Mark Patterson

Dr. Mark Samuel Patterson, 75, entered into Life Triumphant Monday, April 24, 2023 at his home.

Born in Anderson and the son of the late Melvin E. Patterson and Nancy Hentz Patterson Grant, he was the husband of Betty Fulmer Patterson. A graduate of Belton High School in 1966, he then went on to graduate from Anderson College in 1968 before getting his Doctorate in Pharmacy from MUSC in 1972. Dr. Patterson was a pharmacist at numerous pharmacies throughout his life including Parkman's Pharmacy, Revco/CVS, Long's Drugs and Bank's Drugs. He was a member of Saluda Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder. He was also an avid golfer, getting a hole in one in 2017.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Fulmer Patterson of Saluda, one son, Mark Bradford Patterson (Tenneille) of Fayetteville, GA, one daughter, Dr. Jennifer Patterson of Summerville, one sister, Louanne Gilley (Gary) of Edgefield, and three grandsons, Maxton and Micah Patterson and Braylon McGrier.

Dr. Patterson is preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth P. Pearson.

A funeral service will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Saluda Presbyterian Church with Rev. Emily Mooneyhan officiating. Interment will follow in West Travis Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church social hall.
