Mary Berry

Mary Crouch Berry, 106, passed away on December 11, 2024, at Saluda Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on March 30, 1918, in Saluda County, and a daughter of the late Bennie Belton Crouch and Sudie Elizabeth Schumpert Crouch, she was the wife of the late Martin Luther "Mott" Berry. She and her husband owned a dairy farm and worked together for many years. Mrs. Mary was a faithful member of Good Hope Baptist Church, as well as a member of the Red Hat Society Ladies for many years.

Surviving from her loving marriage of 59 years, are two daughters, Barbara Blackwell (C.J.), and Carol Brooks (Gary) a son, Layne Berry (Dorothy, deceased), three grandchildren, Dr. Robert Blackwell, Kimberli Borgh (Dusty) and John Berry (Gretchen) and four great-grandchildren, Justin Berry, Kayla Huffstetler, Jackson Borgh and Chandler Borgh.

Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by a son, Norman Keith Berry, two grandchildren, Rand Berry and Cheryl Huffstetler, a sister, Lois Matthews and six brothers, Bobby Eugene Crouch, Joe Ben Crouch, Jim Crouch, Carrol Edward Crouch, John Crouch, and Fate Crouch.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Going officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service.
