Mary "Dolly" Robertson
Mrs. Mary Evelyn (Dolly) Hendrix Robertson, age 92, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the home of her daughter and caregiver, Jane Robertson Holecek.
Born March 15, 1930, in Lexington County to Frank Oscar Hendrix Sr and Maggie Ella Jane Amick Hendrix. Mrs. Robertson's family moved to Batesburg when she was a small child as the building of the Lake Murray Dam flooded their homeplace. She graduated Batesburg-Leesville High School and grew up as a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Batesburg SC.
She married Edward Randolph Robertson soon after graduation and moved to Saluda County and joined Richland Springs Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years and was active on other committees for 74+ years. She was happiest when she was teaching the first & second graders in Sunday School, working alongside her husband in his truck crop business and raising her three children.
She is survived by sons, Randy (Mable), Jack (Judy), and daughter Jane (Bill) Holecek; grandchildren, Melinda Robertson, Stephanie Morton, Chad Robertson, Chris Robertson, Jay Turner, Dodie Nealy and Dacia Durham; great-grandchildren, Patty Lindler, Carla Keeler, Tyler Morton, Lauren Morton, Elijah Turner, Aiden Turner, Addison Robertson, McKenzie Coggins, Wesley Durham, Josie Durham and Jacob Nealy; great-great-granddaughter, Mills Lindler; her last sibling, Bertha (Jeff) Duffie; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to the death of her parents and husband, she was predeceased by eight siblings; Clyde A Hendrix Sr, Leroy Hendrix, Sam Hendrix, Frank Oscar (J.R.) Hendrix, Pauline Miller, Annie Mae Waters, Theo Minick, and Melba Epps.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Richland Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Campbell and Rev. Burton Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Hurt Cemetery. Family will greet friends following the services.
