Michael Blackmon

Michael "Sonny" Blackmon, 67, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at MUSC Medical Center.

Born in Saluda and the son of the late Troy William and Ruth Turner Blackmon, he was the husband of Rhonda Elaine Turner Blackmon. He was a retired truck driver employed with Tri-County and loved his mechanic shop. He was also a member of S.C. National Guard, Saluda Unit as well as a member of Open Bible. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are his wife, Rhonda Elaine Turner Blackmon of Saluda, five children, Wally Fuller (Karen) of Myrtle Beach, Rhonda Lynn Turner (Vic) of Ninety Six, Rachel Schultz (Robert) of Ninety Six, Rodger Blackmon of Ninety Six and Randy Blackmon of Chappells, three step-children, Kelly Nash of Johnston, Julie Walker of Johnston and Lee Glanton of Edgefield, three sisters, Judy B. Lake of Saluda, Debra B. Stoudemire of Saluda and Rose B. Edwards of Cullowhee, NC, 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mr. Blackmon is preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Blackmon and Bobby Blackmon, a sister, Carolyn B. Matthews, a son, Troy Michael Crookshanks, and a daughter, Robin Michelle Blackmon.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 8 PM, Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Ramey Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Travis Park Cemetery with Rev. Ron Bennett officiating.
