Michael Wayne Thompson, Jr., 44, died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Greenwood County and a son of the late Nancy Smith Woodard, he was the husband of Martha Diane Edward Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was a loving, intelligent, spiritual man. He loved his wife and family very much. He was known as "Skeeter" to his family.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Diane Edward Thompson, two brothers, Robert Motte (Janice) and Donald Henry Woodard (Doris) both of Greenwood, a sister, Nancy "Lucy" Johnson of Greenwood and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Judy Hames officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
