Myrle Blanche McDaniel Williams, 88, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 .
Born in Greenwood County and a daughter of the late Jasper and Fannie Estelle Reese McDaniel, she was the wife of the late Tom Edwin Williams. Mrs. Williams was a former owner and operator of Williams Hardware and Gift Shop. She was a charter member of Saluda Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and she was active in missions and was a member of the Choir. Mrs. Williams was a very active member of the Saluda Pull-it Festival Committee and Saluda County Historical Society and she was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club.
Surviving are a son, Dan Williams of Newberry, three daughters, Brenda W. (Charles) Long of Saluda, Donna W. Rankin of Newberry and Karen Summer of Prosperity, a brother and sister in-law, Ralph and Rusty McDaniel of Greenwood. She enjoyed seven grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A private family burial will be held at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest by her late husband.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 pm, Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Saluda Baptist Church in the social hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Relay for Life or a charity of one's choice.
