Myrtie Magdalene Cockrell Temples, 88, died Friday, August 19, 2016 at her residence.
Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Bennie "Bill" and Ida Millen Cockrell, she was the wife of Harvey Temples. Mrs. Temples was a homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Holiness Tabernacle and sang with the Sunlight Singers.
Surviving is her husband of 72 years, Harvey Temples, a son, Elliott Temples (Linda) of Greenwood, four daughters, Patricia Adams (Clyde) , Carolyn Vines (Rodger) and Tami Bodie all of Saluda and Judy Galloway of Ninety Six, two sisters in-law, Mae Cockrell and Claudine Cockrell both of Saluda, eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Temples was preceded in death by three brothers, Thurmond Cockrell, Ed Cockrell and Bennie Cockrell and two sisters, Dorothy Cleveland and Gladys Lowe.
Funeral services will be held 4 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2016 at Calvary Holiness Tabernacle with Rev. Carlos Fincannon and Rev. Mark Fincannon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
