Ora Mae Rogers Long's Obituary
Ora Mae Rogers Long, 97, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 at her residence.
Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Malachi Augustus and Elizabeth Idora Storey Rogers, she was the wife of the late James Long. Mrs. Long was a caregiver and owner of the Longs Community Care Home for 30 years and was a member of Pine Pleasant Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, James Wayne Long and Michael T. Long both of Saluda, a sister, Genelle Hazel of Saluda, fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Long was preceded in death by four sons, Theron Long, Oscar Gene Long, Donald Augustus Long and William Kenneth Long, Sr., a grandson, Jim Long, four sisters and four brothers.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Saturday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, January 31, at Pine Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev. Burton Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Pine Pleasant Baptist Church, 457 Pine Pleasant Church Rd., Saluda, SC 29138.
