Patsy Geraldine Berry Evans, 78, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021, peacefully after declining health at Saluda Nursing Center.
Born June 19, 1942 in Newberry County, and a daughter of the late James Hoyt Berry and Reverend Kitty Taylor Berry, she was the wife of the late John Evans. Mrs. Evans was a seamstress for 34 years at Knight Industries. A member of Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church, she also played the piano and sung at Deans Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved her family and God and she will be dearly missed by everyone.
Surviving are three sons, Harvey Evans of Batesburg, Daryl Evans (Melissa) of Aiken and Scott Evans (Maria) of Saluda, one daughter, Dale Evans of Batesburg, three sisters, Betty Jean Key of Royston, GA, Mary Julia Scarborough of Edgefield and Joyce Crow (Wesley) of Morganton, NC, a brother, Harold Fox (Malinda) of Batesburg, three sisters-in-laws, Shirley Gunter, Tina Evans and Rachel Lindler, six grandchildren, Mark, James, Luke, Olivia, Johnette and Brandon Evans and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a son, John Earl Evans, infant daughter and a brother, James Allen Berry.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. William Sawyer and the staff of Saluda Nursing and Rehab Center for their care and support of their mother.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Roger Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church social hall.
