Paul Nelson Gibson

Paul Nelson Gibson, 86, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025 at Saluda Nursing Center, surrounded by his family.

Born in Saluda County and the son of the late Harold Gibson and Maude Lucille Bradley Gibson, he was the husband of Alice Elizabeth Pearson Gibson. Mr. Gibson proudly served in the United States Army. After his military service, he pursued a long and successful career in road construction, working with numerous contractors before retiring from C.R. Jackson. In his free time, he had a passion for reading and enjoyed inventing things, always exploring new ideas and creative solutions.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 59 years, is a daughter, Teresa Coleman ( Andrew) of Saluda, a son, Ryan Gibson of W. Columbia, four brothers, John Gibson, Maynard Gibson, Simon Gibson all of Saluda and David Gibson of Newberry, two sisters, Mable Robertson of Saluda and Debra Case of Greenwood, two grandchildren, Harrison Coleman ( Amanda) and Robert Coleman (Sabrina), a great-grandson, Gatlin Coleman, a great-grandson on the way, William Coleman, numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend, Sheila Goodman.

Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by a brother, William Gibson.

The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time. A private service will be held.
