Perry Black

Perry Watson Black, 81, died Friday, December 10, 2021 at his home.

Born in Saluda County and a son of the late John Tillman Black and Mannie Ellen Black, he was the husband of Julia Claris Oswald Black. Mr. Black was a retired textile worker and also from the Saluda County Stockyard. He was a farmer and a member of Nazareth United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Julia Claris Oswald Black, two daughters, Sherry B. Crouch (Earl) and Sheila Black , a sister, Carrie Mae Oswald, five grandchildren, Krista Hallback, Melinda Forrest (Will), Claire Mann, Michael Proctor and Christopher Proctor and four great-grandchild, Caden Forrest, Ava Forrest, Skylar Hallback and Finley Forrest all of Saluda.

Mr. Black was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Black, John "Bill" Black, Jr. and Raymond Black.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Nazareth United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Freeman and Rev. Jerry Brunson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
