R. Miriam Torres-Ortiz (Pliego), 31, passed away, Friday, May 24, 2024 at City of Hope Cancer Center in Newnan, GA.

Born in Guanajuato, Mexico and a daughter of Maria De La Luz-Ortiz and the late Enrique Torrez, she was the wife of Jesus Salvador- Pliego. Mrs. Miriam was employed with Family Healthcare North Saluda and attending Piedmont Technical College pursuing her nursing degree.

Surviving in addition to her husband is her mother and father, Maria De La Luz-Ortiz and Hector Manuel-Ramos, children, Jesus Ulises Pliego-Torres, Heidi Pliego-Torres, Martin Pliego-Torres and Rosalyn Pliego-Torres, her maternal grandparents, Eduviges Ramos and Pedro Rico Ortiz, maternal uncles Andres Ortiz (Velma Mendoza), Pedro Ortiz (Julia Velasquez), maternal aunts, Eduviges and Anayuri Ortiz, her siblings Edith and Adan Ortiz. Her father and mother-in-law, Salvador and Teresita Pliego, her sisters in law Rosa Pliego (deceased) Sophie Pliego and Yerylen Pliego (Gustavo Avila H.), nephews Marco, Sydney and Leandro Mercado, Christopher and Alexander Avila and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8:30 pm, Friday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.

A Spanish Catholic Mass will be held 9 am, Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with a graveside service following at 11 am, in Angels Memorial Gardens.
