Rama McCarty

Mrs. Rama Oswald McCarty, 90, entered into rest August 20, 2020 peacefully at University Hospital. Private family services will be held on Sunday, August 23rd, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date.

Rama was a life-long resident of Saluda, SC and an active member of Nazareth Methodist Church. She also attended Beulah Methodist Church in Sandy Run, SC, as well as church services at Brookdale Assisted Living in Augusta, GA. Rama's love for her church and faith lead the way in all she did. She is remembered by her family and friends for her gentle spirit and caring demeanor for all she came into contact with. Her empathy for others was only rivaled by her love for her family, animals, and flowers all of which she proudly shared with those she loved. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion.

Rama was preceded in death by three husbands, J.M Wheeler, Irby Vance, and Floyd McCarty, as well as four siblings Ethan Oswald, Ona Cox, Brinton Oswald, Twanita Ridgell. She is survived by two daughters, Vickey (Jeep) Van Frank and Wanda (Richard) Kalb ; two grandchildren, Greg Crawford and Mellisa (Brad) Mack; 6 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; seven siblings Bernell Eargle, Norma Martin, Lanita Strouge, Patsy Swygert, Claris Black, Duel Oswald, and Cordell Oswald.
