Randy Hyler

Randy Brunson Hyler, a gentle soul that everyone loved, 72, died Thursday, February 23, 2023. His friends describe him as easy going and kind-hearted.

Born in Saluda County, the son of the late Otis and Gladys Hyler, he was the husband to Joy (Johnson). He spent his career in the concrete industry working in every facet imaginable.

After high school Randy joined the navy. He spent a few years sailing the Mediterranean but could not wait to come back to both Saluda and Joy. He spent the next 50 years with the two loves of his life.

Surviving are his wife, Joy, two sons, Randy (Kelley) and Ryan, a brother, Bankston, a sister, Sarah, two grandchildren, Dalton and Bailey, and a labradoodle named Hank.

Randy was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Hyler and Kay Greene.

A memorial service will be held at Saluda Baptist Church on Sunday, February 26 at 3:00 pm, with Reverend Don Bishop officiating. Reverend Bishop married Joy and Randy nearly 51 years ago.

The family will receive friends prior to the service at 2:00pm on Sunday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Saluda Baptist Church.
