Reverend John Harold Turner, 85, died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at his residence.

Born October 31, 1929 in Edgefield County and a son of the late Fred S. and Ruby Ransom Turner, he was the husband of the late Rosalind McCary Turner. Rev. Turner was a U.S. Marines Corps. veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Schlumberger and was a minister. He served as Chaplin at NHC Healthcare and Self Regional in Greenwood, SC and was a member of Ninety Six Congregational Holiness Church.

Surviving are two brothers, Edgar Turner (Judy) of Greenwood and Coy E. Turner (Virginia) of Dayton, OH, a sister-in-law, Angela Turner of Mansfield, OH and a number of nieces and nephews.

Rev. Turner was preceded in death by two brothers, Randolph Turner and William F. Turner and three sisters, Lois Terry, Dora McCoy and Betty Suit.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, February 27, 2015 at Faith Temple with Rev. Yvonne Taylor and Rev. David Cockrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
