Richard Ridgell

Richard "Ricky" Edd Ridgell, 66, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Saluda Nursing Center.

Born in Newberry County, and a son of Annelle Minick Ridgell and the late Jim Edd Ridgell. He served in the United States Navy in the early 1980's and then in the Navy Reserves. Mr. Ricky retired from Southern States in Johnston after 20 years and was previously employed with Blease Propane of Saluda. He was attending Emory United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, Carey V. Ridgell (Abigail), a mother, Annelle Ridgell, two grandsons, Rhett and Rowan Ridgell (both of whom he adored), a sister, Marilyn Blease (Nikki) all of Saluda, and two nieces, Kerianne Hammond (Joe) of Ninety-Six and Alex Gunter (Cooper) of Batesburg.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, at Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Ken Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall.
