Richard Tucker
Richard Ray Tucker, 83, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior on March 28, 2026. Born on July 5, 1942, to Raymond Ray Tucker and Lizzie Mae Davis Tucker, Richard's life was a testimony to God's grace, redemption, and enduring faithfulness.
Though he came to know Christ later in life, Richard devoted himself wholeheartedly to his Savior, making it his life's mission to share the Gospel and the transforming power of Jesus with everyone he encountered. His faith was not only something he professed—it was something he lived daily, with humility, conviction, and joy.
Richard was a faithful and devoted member of Hopewell Congregational Holiness Church, where he served diligently as a Sunday school teacher. He had a deep love for Scripture and found great purpose in teaching others, always pointing them to the truth and hope found in Christ.
For over fifty-five years, Richard worked as a truck driver, most often hauling livestock. He loved being on the road and would take his family along for his trips when he could. Known by his handle "Coffee King," he enjoyed sharing the love of his "big trucks" with his grandchildren as they grew up.
Above all, Richard cherished his family. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 61 years, Brenda Taylor Tucker. Together they built a legacy rooted in love, faith, and commitment. He was a proud father to Dena Pope (Mike) of Palm Bay, Florida, and Choya Tucker (Mendi) of Saluda, South Carolina.
He was a beloved grandfather to Rebekah Endicott (Charles "Conner") of Palm Bay, Florida, Richard Pope of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Derek Tucker (Abbygale) of Abbeville, South Carolina, and Taylor Stone (Britton) of Saluda, South Carolina. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Josiah, Evelyn, and Zachary Endicott; Hudson and Haven Tucker; and Sadie Stone, each of whom brought him great joy.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lizzie Mae Tucker; his brothers, JC "Jack" Tucker, SV "Vern" Tucker, Paul Tucker, Robert "Eugene" Tucker, and Ronald "Ronnie" Tucker; and his sisters, Emogene Tucker Johnson, Dorothy Tucker Hornsby, and Uldean "Dean" Tucker Jennings.
While his family grieves his passing, they rejoice in the assurance of his salvation and the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. Richard has now heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant," and is forever at peace in the presence of his Savior.
His life was a testimony that it is never too late to come to Christ, and his unwavering faith leaves behind a legacy that will continue to impact generations to come.
"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." — Psalm 116:15
