Rick Welch's Obituary
Ralph Richard "Rick" Welch, Jr., 47, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at his residence.
Born in Prince George's County, MD, he was the son of Lucy Evelyn Ackerman Higgins and the late Ralph Richard Welch, Sr. Rick was a graduate of the University of Maryland and was a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Surviving are a son, Jake Zamora Welch and a daughter, Carleigh Zamora Welch both of Bel Air, MD, his mother, Lucy Ackerman Higgins and Step-father, John Portman Higgins, Jr. of Fairfax Station, VA, a sister, Ruth Evelyn Welch Southern of Biloxi, MS and his fiancé, Maria E. Powers of Abingdon, MD.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 11,2014 at Red Bank Baptist Church Cemetery in Saluda, SC with Rev. Gary Romines officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM Tuesday at Ramey Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boys Farm Inc. (boysfarm.org) P.O. Box 713, Newberry,SC 29108.
