Robert Frederick "Fred" Strange, Sr., 82, died Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Lowman Home in White Rock.

Born in Sumter County and a son of the late Frank Dwight Strange, Sr. and Lois Weldon Strange, he was the husband of the late Frances Olive McDaniel Strange. Mr. Strange was retired from the Department of Health and Environmental Control and retired from the SC National Guard and later was employed by Atlantic Coast Properties. He was a member of Butler United Methodist Church and Emanuel Church.

Surviving are two sons, Freddie Strange (Karen) of Irmo and Anthony Strange (Julie) of Richmond, VA, two daughters, Dee James (Martin) of Aiken and Susan Wasylyshyn (Dave) of Regina, Canada and nine grandchildren, Ashley Strange, Corrie Strange Hughes (Josh), Neal Strange (Rachel), Carson Strange Smith (Brantley), Libby James, Cole Wasylyshyn, Hunter James, Daniel Wasylyshyn and Griffith James.

A graveside memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 30, 2017 at Butler United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lee Cothran and Rev. Burton Campbell officiating.
