Obituary

Russell Alton Martin, 67, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Lexington Medical Center.

Born in Saluda County and a son the late Floyd Atlas Martin and Christine Shealy Martin Davis and stepson of the late John Davis , he was the husband of Janet Smith Martin. Mr. Martin served 6 years in the SC National Guard 122nd Engineer Company in Saluda. He was owner of Martin's Bait and Tackle and Martin's Landing and retired from Lake Murray Vinyl. He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church and the Triple B bass club and B.A.S.S..

Surviving are his wife, Janet Smith Martin, a son, Scott Martin (Allyson) of Saluda, a daughter, Tonia M. Hudson (Troy) of Leesville, four brothers, Calvin Martin (Linda) of W. Columbia, Harley Martin (Donnette) of Prosperity, Jimmy Martin (Molly) and Aven Martin (Phyllis) both of Leesville, a sister, Loretta Crowley (John) of Leesville, four grandchildren, Ryan Martin, Taylor Martin, Kaylee Hudson and Kennedy Hudson.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his father in-law and mother in-law, Charlton and Marjorie Smith.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., Thursday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m., Friday, November 14, 2014 at Rehoboth United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Noble Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
